Parco dei Suoni

Riola Sardo, located on the banks of Rio Foghe, offers many
attractions, including typical Campidanese houses, churches, and
bodies of water. A notable point is the Parco dei Suoni (Park of
Sounds), located in the disused sandstone quarries at Su Cuccuru
Mannu in the Sinis Peninsula. This unique space, created in 2008 by
architects Pierpaolo Perra and Alberto Antioco Loche, won the
Landscape Award from the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. The
park unfolds through paths that traverse the quarries, creating
evocative environments with “sound sculptures” inspired by the
works of Pinuccio Sciola. During July and August, the park hosts
jazz, pop, and rock concerts as part of the Grandi Eventi circuit,
making it one of the most suggestive and unusual spaces on the
island. The project is part of the broader Riberas Project, involving
the neighboring municipalities of Cabras and Santa Giusta.
