Island of Mal di Ventre

A few nautical miles off the coasts of the Sinis Peninsula lies the
small island of Maluentu (Mal di Ventre). Its name in the Sardinian
language is due to its exposure to strong winds, which, during heavy
storms, make the surrounding waters particularly treacherous.
The island, with sparse vegetation primarily consisting of
10
Mediterranean scrub, is a protected marine park and a nesting area
for various bird species.
The waters surrounding it are home to marine turtles and frequently
visited by cetaceans.
