Civic Museum Giovanni Marongiu

The Civic Archaeological Museum of Cabras is dedicated to
13
exhibiting archaeological artifacts from the municipal territory of
Cabras on the Sinis Peninsula.
In its spaces, collections, artifacts, and findings from pre-Nuragic,
Nuragic, Punic-Phoenician, and Roman periods are housed.
Among the most prominent treasures exhibited, the ten Giants of
Mont’e Prama and discoveries from the site of Cuccuru Is Arrius
certainly stand out.
Mont’e Prama.
The archaeological site of Mont’e Prama was discovered
accidentally in March 1974 when, during plowing work in a field,
the first fragments of sculptures emerged. Excavations revealed
a wealth of findings, including the impressive necropolis and the
famous Giants of Mont’e Prama.
Visiting it is a precious opportunity to learn about the history of
the territory and its cultures.
