Stagno di Sale de Porcus

Sale de Porcus is a temporary saltwater pond in Sardinia, located
between Riola Sardo and San Vero Milis. Recognized as an
internationally important wetland, it completely dries up in summer,
forming a crust of salt. It hosts various species of water birds,
including pink flamingos and rarities such as the avocet. In 1982, the
Autonomous Region of Sardinia established a Oriented Nature
Reserve, managed by the municipality of San Vero Milis in
collaboration with LIPU.
